Sustainability

Evergreen has participated in many specific green building and energy efficiency programs. HUD’s Green Initiative, Enterprise’s Green Communities, and the New York Sentinel Plaza State Multifamily Performance Program are just a few examples. We earned a LEEDS Gold certification on our newly constructed building in Tucson, and have installed photovoltaic systems that generate more than 300,000 kWh of electricity annually across several different properties. We learn something every time we participate in a particular program or undertake an innovative system installation, and we bring that experience to bear on our future and ongoing properties.

Evergreen employs sustainable building methods to the greatest possible degree and works to achieve the highest levels of energy efficiency in our mechanical and building envelope systems. We also work with PMI to promote Green Living practices among property staff and residents. Successful energy conservation, indoor air quality, integrated pest management, recycling and other initiatives can only be optimized when staff and residents are educated and encouraged to participate. PMI’s industry leading Supportive Services programs have taken on resident education and enrollment in Green Living as one of its core areas of focus.
